The Gilded Cage by Vic James
This is a dystopian trilogy where there are magical humans who are like royalty and then there are normal people without powers that have to serve as slaves. You can choose to serve your time when you’re young or after you are older but there is most don’t make it out alive. This follows one family as they choose to do this together. This was such a good book. I have read the first 2 books but I still need to get around to book 3.
Mistress of the Revolution
This is an historical fiction about a impoverished noble woman and what she did to get by in the French Revolution. I loved it so much. I couldn’t put it down.
Into the Wilderness
This is an historical fiction where Elizabeth sets out in 1792 from England to the rough country of New York and meets Nathanial. She goes to teach but there is much to overcome. This is a very captivating story if you enjoy the tales of the hard life people had back then.
Persepolis
History/ Memoir / Graphic Novel all in one.Marjane Satrapi’s Memoir of the Islamic Revolution.
A Thousand Splendid Suns
This made me cry so much. I was saddened by the hardship of these two women. This is set in Afghanistan. If you haven’t read this you should.
The Time Keeper
This one will make you appreciate the time you have. I loved this. This is one of those books that make you think about life.
Behind Closed Doors
This is a twisted thriller that was so messed up but oh so good. There’s not much else to say.
Sarah’s Keys
Another historical fiction, this one about Nazi Germany. This one may me cry but it was so good.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I loved this! The idea that no one can remember you was great!
A Pocket for Corduroy
This was one of my childhood favorites.
