The Gingerbread House by Laura Gia West

This has some cute pictures and some cute lines. Although, it doesn’t fit together as nicely as I’d hoped.

I don’t like how it ask “You don’t want that do you? You’re not a Christmas bore…” with a frowny face. Bigger is not always better. It seems more like a book to make you create gingerbread cookies, houses, and cars and on a large scale. Very commercialistic to me.

I also disliked the style of the capital letters. It made it very hard to read. Why does the capital H look like a b, S look like a Z and the Y look backwards.

Overall, I disliked this book and I had really expected to love it. I love Christmas and most Christmas books I’ve read. This just isn’t for me and I would never read it to any of my children.
